Apereo CAS Properties

January 17, 2025 by Mister PKI Leave a Comment

This article will demonstrate how to in Apereo CAS generate a list of all supported properties. It can be tedious to comb through all of the CAS documentation related to a specific feature. Instead, try creating a list of CAS properties and search the file for properties related to the feature you’re using so that you have them all in one place.

The CAS project README has the instructions on how to create the file with all properties. https://github.com/apereo/cas-overlay-template/tree/master#configuration-metadata

In your project root, run the following command:

./gradlew exportConfigMetadata

The output will have a file name of config-metadata.properties. This command takes a while to complete, so be patient. If the command appears to hang, kill the process and see if the file was generated already.

Conclusion – Apereo CAS Properties

This article has demonstrated how to create a list of all supported properties in the Apereo CAS Identity Provider (IDP). Leave us a comment with any questions. If you found this article helpful consider reading more of our content on Apereo CAS.
