What is OpenSSL and what is OpenSSL used for?
OpenSSL is a command line utility, available on most if not all operating systems (Windows, Mac, and Linux) for SSL and TLS protocol operations. It can be used to test SSL configuration, used for cryptographic operations, and other security centric functions.
OpenSSL is open source and version 3.0 is currently underway to be the next major relase.
